Chris Johnson

Chris completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Delaware, earning a Bachelor of Science with distinction while conducting a senior thesis in the physical therapy department under Dr. Lynn Snyder-Mackler.

He was a varsity men's tennis team member, scholar-athlete, and team captain in 2000 and received the Lee J. Hyncik Award for excellence in athletics and academics. Chris stayed at the University of Delaware to earn a physical therapy degree while completing an orthopedic/sports graduate fellowship under Dr. Michael J. Axe of First State Orthopedics.

Following graduation, Chris' professional journey took him to the Nicholas Institute of Sports Medicine and Athletic Trauma (NISMAT) at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York City, where he honed his skills as a physical therapist and research assistant for eight years. In 2010, he took a significant step in his career by opening his own physical therapy and performance facility, Chris Johnson PT PLLC, in the Flatiron District of Manhattan.

In 2013, Chris relocated to Seattle to pursue his professional work while enjoying a more active outdoor lifestyle in the Pacific Northwest. He founded Zeren PT LLC shortly after arriving to provide exceptional physical therapy and later Alchemy Endurance to provide customized coaching for multisport and endurance athletes. He has since become recognized as an authority and thought leader in the endurance space, working with runners and triathletes across the injury-to-performance spectrum. Chris is a sought-after speaker and clinical educator who provides business coaching and consultation for solopreneurs and group practices, helping clinicians rediscover their passion for the field while enhancing the patient journey.

Chris lives in Edmonds with his wife and two kids. He continues to be a competitive endurance athlete, focusing on distance running.

Amy Lafko

As a Physical Therapist, Amy spent years in school learning best practices for patient care and how to put the patient first. Like so many technically skilled clinicians, she advanced to a leadership role. Spending 20+ years in operational leadership, she had an epiphany: Putting the customer first isn’t the path to success or fulfillment. Rather, the most successful organizations and practices put their people first – and exceptional customer care, profitability, and effectiveness naturally followed.

It was the a-ha moment that inspired Amy to create the Cairn Method which is grounded in a People First Method based on the knowledge that you’ve got to grow your people to grow your business.

As a sought-after speaker, facilitator and business consultant, Amy is bringing the secrets of the People First Method to transform organizations and their leadership by shifting the way owners and leaders view the lifecycle of their employees.
