SHARE YOUR TIME & TALENT TO HELP END MS! The MS Society is a non-profit organization dedicated toward creating a world free of MS by raising awareness, funding research, and advocating for change. We are helping people affected by MS live their best lives as we stop MS in its tracks, restore what has been lost, and end MS forever. One of the ways we do this is through major fundraising events such as Walk MS and Bike MS.
We’re always in need of local volunteers to support our event participants, and one of our most vital volunteer roles at each event are our First Aid Volunteers. Unfortunately, since the onset of the Covid pandemic this is also the one role we have the most difficulty filling. We have multiple opportunities to volunteer throughout the year and in many different communities in Oregon. Our Walk MS events utilize first aid volunteers at our start/finish line venues in Bend (4/29/23), Portland (5/20/23), and Vancouver, WA (4/22/23). Our two-day Bike MS: Oregon (9/22 & 23) provides first aid stations at Rider Village in McMinnville, and at every rest stop along the 150 miles of routes throughout the region. All volunteers receive a t-shirt, food and beverage, and an incredible outpouring of appreciation. Most volunteer shifts last for 4 hours or less and the only credential required for first aid volunteers is to have a current CPR certification.
Would you be willing to come out for a few hours to support the event participants that help fund life-changing research? Just follow this link to our volunteer platform where you can find upcoming events in your area, get detailed shift times and locations, and to sign up. We’re in need of volunteers to fill many other roles, as well, so please consider volunteering with a friend or family member. We pull out all the stops to make sure that our volunteers have a great time and leave our events with their hearts full after helping to create a transcendent experience for those impacted by MS.
