When you join APTA Oregon, a chapter of the American Physical Therapy Association, you become part of a dedicated group of more than 1,700 professionals who are known for their commitment to professionalism and promotion of the profession at large. 

Your membership in APTA Oregon automatically includes your enrollment to the national organization, the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA).  APTA represents over 100,000 physical therapists, physical therapist assistants, and students of physical therapy nationwide.  Your APTA Oregon/APTA membership grants you access to numerous benefits including advocacy at the state and national level, clinical education, public awareness, career development, conferences, evidence-based practice tools, news publications and magazines, payment resources, and multiple discount programs only available to members.  At the state level you can also benefit from membership, continuing education courses, workshops, PT Night Out, conferences, leadership opportunities and more.

Educational Opportunities 

Members receive discounted pricing at educational events held throughout the year.  Take advantage of your membership to attend educational events that will enhance your career:

  • Annual Conference:  Our annual one day conference is held in the spring of each year and is filled with education, information, and networking with peers. 

  • CE Courses:  APTA Oregon holds various CE Courses and seminars during the year to help members obtain required CE Credits.  Check our website for current course offerings.

  • “Pain, Physical Therapy and the Opioid Epidemic” Program:  APTA Oregon members receive a discounted registration fee on this 3 hour self-paced online course. Created by the International Spine and Pain Institute (ISPI) this course helps physical therapists gain a better understanding of pain neuroscience and what can be done to help people.  

  • APTA Continuing Education :  APTA offers multiple courses around the country; along with audio and online learning.  Members receive discounts on all continuing education.

Legislative Advocacy 

APTA Oregon's Government Affairs Committee works with the American Physical Therapy Association and our lobbyist to advocate for the profession in Congress, in the Oregon Legislature and with the numerous regulatory bodies that influence our profession.

Marketing Opportunities 

APTA Oregon has multiple marketing tools for member companies that want to get in front of the membership at large.  Take advantage of unique opportunities to participate in sponsorship packages, exhibitor displays at events, and newsletter advertising.  Companies are also able to post job openings on the website.

Networking & Leadership 

Meet and greet with your peers at events such as Oregon PT Night Out, educational events and seminars, or by joining a committee.  Many of our members have increased their leadership skills by becoming involved in committees.  There are numerous committees and time commitments to select from so members can be in charge of their involvement.
