DEI 101: Emerging perspectives and best practices when working with  individuals who identify as LGBTQ+

Description
In an article published in 2020, APTA stated that individuals who identify as members of a sexual minority deserve care that's sensitive to differences. The Cultural and Minority Affairs Committee of APTA Oregon will present how physical therapists and physical therapist assistants can implement best practices that acknowledge these differences. In addition, speakers will present a brief recent history of the LGBTQ+ and the current challenges and barriers facing the LGBTQ+ community nationally, locally, and in the healthcare environment.
